So lately I've been enjoying the little funny moments that happen. As you can see my world pretty much revolves around Andrew, Clancy, and Chloe and grocery shopping, so there is a definite trend to these funny moments, but I hope you enjoy them!
1. Clancy, who had stripped down to just his new hightop Converse and his diaper in preparation for dinner, put a sticker on his belly and then did a belly dance while breathing heavily. "I'm having a baby" he announced. Too much Discovery Health channel?
2. A guy in his convertible Benz with his arm stretched out hanging onto a shopping cart that he was towing from the Pickering Barn parking lot to the Costco parking lot across the street. I want to think that this was his good deed for the day and not that he is just a wealthy guy
working as a cart fetcher for Costco
3. Clancy's repertoire of songs which includes "Hello Hello" By the Beatles, "You Are So Beautiful to Me", "Put Your Shoulder to the Wheel", and of course "Latter-Day Prophets"4. Chloe grunting and growling really loudly during the quietest part of church and sleeping in her high chair

5. A man was walking away from his Benz in the Fred Meyer parking lot and then, noticing an invisible speck of dirt on his car's tail light, he bent down and with much drama, licked his finger and polished his light. Wow!
6. I often have to give Clancy a run-down of the day's events so that he can mentally prepare himself and one day I gave him the run down as we were driving home from an event "go home, eat lunch, read books, take a rest, go to Costco and get gas with Dada" and he said "No, how about we go to Costco get gas, eat samples, get in our car, go home, eat lunch, read books and then take a rest". I couldn't resist, we had to go to Costco and get samples.
7. Chloe getting high-centered on the toy bin

8. The show "Wipe Out" on ABC. We've only seen it once, but it is just basically people going through challenging obstacle courses that often involve water, dizziness, and a lot of really funny falls. Andrew, Clancy and I laughed our heads off.
9. Chloe tipping her head to the side and batting her eyelids when she wants to charm you
10. Andrew losing his glasses for 24 hours when he swore they were on his bedside table. Luckily he has a good looking back-up pair. We looked everywhere for them and eventually found them in his scripture case.
11. Clancy disappearing for a few minutes and then throwing the door open and shouting "TaDa" with some black snow boots on (These boots are actually a hand-me-down for Chloe, but somehow Clancy squeezed his feet into them). He then proceeded to try on all the shoes which were all really girly. Finally I got him to try on his new Converse and then told him to strike a pose. This was the result.
12. Chloe's reaction to people eating ice cream without offering her any.

13. Us having a room dedicated entirely to fort building. There is one really large room in the house we live in that has three big couches with a lot of cushions and not much else. It is Clancy's dream come true. So far we've constructed rockets, planes, trains, and of course, the Tower of Babel.

14. Andrew putting me in charge of handling bee removal. Honestly, does he not know that "I am afraid of things that bite and sting"?
15. Clancy telling his uncle Jacob to wait at the bottom of the stairs. "I need a little space, I need some PIE VUS EE" he says.
16. We found this candle when we were moving in and Clancy was excited about it. We told him that when he is 5 we will put it on his birthday cake. We left it at that and then a few minutes later Clancy brought it to me and said that it was broken. Strangely enough, the break marks were exactly the same size and shape as Clancy's teeth. Maybe we should save it for his 5th, 15th, 25th etc. birthday cake!
We are all gathered around the computer enjoying this. You have such a funny little family and a fun perspective on things. Thanks for the update!
ReplyDeleteIt's nice to know my kid isn't the only one that runs around pantsless! Laura, these are hilarious! I laughed the hardest at Chloe getting high centered on the toy bin and Clancy's little belly dance. (My Jacob is having a baby too...or so he tells us...and it's a boy!) Spending the day with children is perhaps the most entertaining thing EVER!
ReplyDeleteYou are such a great mom! I love the Costco Samples and the Fort building. Your family is adorable!
ReplyDeleteYou guys are so fun. We love spending time with you and love your perpective. We just keep looking at this and laughing. I wish we had a video of Chloe's reaction between the bites of ice cream. She just couldn't get it in fast enough. Clancy is a miniature adult. He is very serious about his opinions and role in this world. Love you all!
ReplyDeleteOne of the very cutest families that I know! Absolutely adorable. :)
ReplyDeleteha, ha. Never a dull moment. Those are funny. Your children are darling. I love the pictures of Chloe bundled in the flowers.
ReplyDeleteMy fave is the 5 candle. You guys are awesome!
